- A visit to Dunluce castle
- Irish Whisky Tasting
Day 1 - Meeting the giants
We'll begin uncovering Northern Ireland's many charms from the moment that we meet as a group at Londonderry airport. From there, we'll drive to our hotel, where we'll check-in and have some time to rest and freshen up before heading out for a sunset session in the evening. The focus of our shoot will be Ireland's most famous landmark, the Giant's Causeway. We'll capture this spectacular UNESCO World Heritage area with the magical glow of the sunset illuminating its 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, rising steadfast from the sea.
Day 2 - A dark past
On day two, we'll head out to Dark Hedges in the wee hours of the morning, to ensure that we'll be at our sunrise location well before dawn breaks. This avenue of beech trees was planted over 200 years ago. Their gnarly branches curve towards one another, in a tangled mess of beauty. We'll spend our time shooting the Dark Hedges as the sun rises, bathing them in a golden glow. Thereafter, we'll head towards the coastline, where we'll spend the evening photographing the ruins of the medieval Dunluce castle as the light slowly fades.
Day 3 - Bays of Ireland
On day three, we'll begin the morning with a sunrise session at Murlough Bay, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful bays along the Antrim coast. A world of breathtaking beauty is to be found along this stretch of coastline, so we'll take our time to explore. From the quaint harbour of Ballycastle to the ruins of Kinbane Castle perched above the open ocean, there will be much to keep us occupied.
In the afternoon, we'll brave the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge, which links the mainland to the tiny island of Carrickarede. Thereafter, we'll meander along the coast, practicing our long exposure photography skills.
Depending on the conditions, there will be the option of returning to Ballycastle or the Giant's Causeway for a sunset session.
Day 4 - Towards the light
We'll rise early again on day four, as our aim will be the capture the sun rising over the Mussenden Temple. Perched dramatically on the edge of a sheer cliff between Downhill and Castlerock, this is one of those places that you'll never forget. We'll take our time capturing the waves of the Atlantic Ocean as they roll in around the Temple with the morning light.
In the afternoon, we'll turn our focus towards two charming lighthouses. The first, Stroove, is situated between two idyllic beaches. The second, Fanad Head Lighthouse, is where we will spend the sunset. Perched high atop a rocky headland, this lighthouse makes for stunning compositions as wild waves crash perilously all around. Depending on the conditions, there may be the option of photographing it at night, with a layer of stars lighting up the fabric of the night sky.
Day 5 - Off we go
This will be the final day of our adventure in Northern Ireland. We'll get up early for a sunrise shoot at Fanad castle, before heading back to the hotel for breakfast. When the time comes, we'll check out and make our way back to the airport – no doubt with memory cards full of photos to remember an enchanting time in Ireland.
