During summer, Iceland becomes the Land of the Midnight Sun. This means that the sun never really drops below the horizon and there is close to 24 hours of daylight. If you're wondering how I sleep during this period... I don't! I stay up all night chasing the perfect light! Would you like to chase the light with me? Join me on my next Midnight Sun adventure. Háifoss is one of the highest and also one of the most striking waterfalls in Iceland. It is situated near the Thorsmork ridge-line in the Icelandic Highlands, where bright green mountains, volcanic glaciers and braided rivers meet. This photo was shot during a Highlands photography workshop in Iceland. Join us for a photo adventure next summer in the Highlands at www.iceland-photo-tours.com
The pulsing energy of Aldeyjarfoss is absolutely mindblowing as it tumbles into the beautiful blue pool below. The effect is intoxicating to watch, particularly in summer when the snow has melted away and the unique basalt rock formations beside the waterfall are visible.
