We'll meet as a group in the afternoon at the international airport of the bustling city of Venice. If you choose to arrive early to enjoy a few extra days at your leisure, then we'll pick you up to begin the adventure from Bolzano train station.
From there, we'll begin the long drive north towards the Dolomites, arriving just in time for a sunset session at the breathtaking mountain pass, Passo Rolle. Here, you'll be able to capture stunning views of the mountainous landscape all around.
After the sun sets, we'll continue towards our hotel near Lake Carezza.
We'll rise early on day two for a sunrise session on the shores of Lake Carezza. Steeped in folklore, this lake has been dubbed "the most beautiful lake on Earth", and it's not hard to see why. Its waters are reflective, catching the vibrant colours of the immediate surroundings, almost like a rainbow. It makes for an amazing sight as the golden glow of the sunrise takes hold.
Thereafter, we'll return to our hotel for breakfast before journeying to our next destination, Val di Funes, where we'll spend the next two nights. This peaceful and relaxing valley is a paradise for hikers, surrounded by glorious views of the Odle mountain peaks.
We'll spend the afternoon photographing the St Johan Church and the Church of Santa Maddalena, as the sun sets on the horizon.
On day three, we'll return to Val di Funes for a sunrise shoot, before heading back to the hotel for breakfast. There will be some time to relax and freshen up, before we dive straight in to a post-processing masterclass followed by lunch.
In the afternoon, we'll make our way to La Valle Wengen, a small and quiet village situated amongst a field of pastures. Our subject will be the beautiful St Barbara Chapel, which rises from a panoramic point above the mountains.
After the sun sets, we'll return to our hotel in Santa Maddalena.
Val di Funes is filled with endless opportunities for diverse compositions, depending on the conditions, so we'll return there to catch the valley in a different light. We'll return to the hotel for breakfast, before then continuing on our journey towards the Alpe di Siusi – Europe's biggest alpine meadow. The area is well-known for its undulating hills and quaint cabins dotting the green landscape. We'll capture it with the golden glow of the sunset bathing the landscape in fairytale light.
We'll rise early on day five to catch the sunrise over Alpe di Siusi, hopefully with a layer of mist swathing the landscape in an enchanting light. We'll then have breakfast, before journeying towards Cortina D'Ampezzo, the busy gateway to the eastern part of the Dolomites. We'll base ourselves there for the next three nights as we explore the fascinating peaks of Tre Cime, the most famous mountains in the Dolomites.
We'll spend day six at the Lago di Braies, where emerald green waters reflect the mountains in the background.
The rest of the day will be spent hiking in the spectacular surrounds of Tre Cime di Lavaredo. We will photograph the Three Sisters as the sun sets and return to the hotel later in the evening for dinner.
On day seven, we'll start off with sunrise at Cinque Torri, one of the most well-known rock-climbing areas in the Dolomites. Here, we will concentrate on photographing the five stone towers as the first rays of the sun cast them in a warm light. From there, we'll make our way to Rifugio Scoiattoli to explore an open-air museum dedicated to the Italian troops who fought in World War I. After breakfast, we'll have another post processing masterclass. Our afternoon and evening will be spent on the glorious shores of the picturesque Lake Antorno, surrounded by brilliant autumn foliage.
This will be our final day in the Dolomites. We'll check out of our hotel at 10:00 and arrive in Venice by no later than 13:00, so you can depart on flights from 16:00 or later.
